The registry is free for as long as the tag exists, with no subscription. We commit to running it for at least 10 years from purchase, and to giving at least 6 months' notice if we ever have to shut it down.
Which version governs
This page is a summary in English. The binding terms are the Norwegian ones on retra.no and the Icelandic ones on retra.is, and where this text differs from them, they govern. You are reading the summary for retra.is.
If you need the full terms in English before agreeing to them, write to retra@retra.is and we will send them.
The short version
- You buy the tags once. Using the registry is free and will stay free for tags you have already bought.
- Messages always relay through us. Your email address and phone number are never shown to a finder, and a finder's address is never shown to you.
- We don't promise a lost item comes back. We promise to make it easy enough for a finder to reach you that they actually do.
- If a tag peels, fades or fails a wash we said it would survive, we send a new one. No questions, no returns.
- Don't use the contact form for threats, advertising, or demanding payment to return an item. Never pay anyone to get an item back.
- Our liability is limited to what you paid for the tags, except for intent or gross negligence, and except where consumer law says otherwise.
