About Retra

This is an experimental version. Functionality and appearance may change without notice.

This is a translation. Where it differs from the Norwegian or Icelandic text, that version governs.

What this is

Retra makes QR tags for things people can't lose. Comfort toys first, then nursery bags, violin cases, helmets and suitcases.

Name labels print a child's name on the bunny. We print a code. The code tells a finder nothing except how to reach you — and it works just as well if the bunny turns up in another town.

Why it is built this way

The page a finder sees loads without JavaScript, without a login and without cookies, in a single request. That isn't thrift: it is the one page that has to work on a wet phone with two bars of signal, in a park, with one thumb free.

We store as little as we can get away with, because what we don't hold can't leak. That's why we never ask for a child's name, why a finder's location is rounded before it is stored, and why conversations delete themselves.

Who runs it
